The latter is possible through optical screening or intelligent word recognition. When on line handwriting recognition is at stake, individuals need a series of specialized handwriting instruments in order to make the digital handwriting possible. These may include a stylus, a touch screen, and software that can ‘read’ and interpret the traces made with a stylus and then transforming it into digital text.
