Colophon, Credits & Conditions

Colophons as production credit devices have a long history in the world of words and publishing. It is to honor that tradition that we have one here. The logo type on this site is Didot, which is a re-cutting of Firmin Didot, named after the famous typefounder family of 18th-century France. Written by Hand is set in Didot, with the devilish inclusion of some hybridized Cochin, which is also used in the italic navigational elements. Can you find it the Cochin in the logotype? HTML text type is set in Trebuchet MS. Freeway Express 4.0 is the website software and the site was created on a Mac.

Ed Tufte has pointed out consistently the importance of clear thinking supported by sound evidence.

These people have been some of my compass points, and deserve the credit for anything of interest you may find here. Any failings are completely mine.
